TECNO is integrating OpenClaw directly into its Ella smart assistant, creating "EllaClaw," marking what is positioned as the first true OpenClaw-powered AI agent on a smartphone. This development addresses a prior limitation of OpenClaw, which typically required dedicated hardware, by allowing it to run within Ella without freezing device resources. The integration aims to simplify the previously tedious setup process for OpenClaw agents, making the technology more accessible to a broader user base via an upcoming beta trial. While popular AI chatbots like Gemini and ChatGPT are still evolving into agentic roles, OpenClaw has previously demonstrated capabilities for automating a broad range of tasks, contextual scanning of system files, and remote control via natural language prompts through a "gateway" device.
